[...] Various noninvasive imaging techniques have been used to evaluate myocardial viability in patients with ischemic LV dysfunction considered for coronary revascularization, including nuclear imaging, stress echocardiography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The most frequently used modality is nuclear imaging with positron emission tomography (PET) or single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT); the value of nuclear imaging is discussed extensively elsewhere in this book.
