Abstract
The research in this thesis focused on the role of steroid hormones and nuclear receptors in the context of castration-resistant prostate cancer. It presents data on the presence of these hormones within the circulation, their conversion by prostate cancer cells and the activation of the androgen receptor, the principal driver of the prostate cancer.
