Abstract
The focus of the research is on combining 'traditional' governance in the social domain with reliance on citizens' own family- and wider social networks into a hybrid form of governance. This particular governance arrangement combines the democratic ideal of self-rule with the potential of achieving a more efficient deployment of publicly funded professional interventions, as people are activated to solve part of their problems through their own networks.
The duration of the project is 4 years; Euro 400.000 is subsidised by NWO; Euro 100.000 by the Municipality of Rotterdam
