Abstract

A 94 year old man presented with an asymptomatic erosive nodule with a central scab, protruding through the umbilicus since 8 weeks. Histopathological examination showed extensive tubular tumor growth, consistent with a metastatic colon carcinoma, a so called Sister Mary Joseph nodule. This is a cutaneous metastasis of a primary intra-abdominal malignancy, mostly of gastrointestinal origin, but sometimes of gynaecological origin.
