Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to explore novel diagnostic and treatment modalities in
urological practice to enhance a patient-centered approach for patients with nonmuscle
invasive bladder cancer.
To this end, I aim to answer the following research questions:
• What is the role of urinary biomarkers in the diagnostic pathway for patients with
microscopic hematuria?
• What is the efficacy and safety of bladder-sparing treatments in high-risk NMIBC
patients?
