Abstract

Years of research into possible neurotoxic effects of anaesthetics on the child's brain have not resulted in any reliable evidence of this danger. Paediatric anaesthesiology research is therefore increasingly devoted to optimising anaesthesia concepts and implementing new technologies. This applies in particular to haemodynamic management and neuromonitoring.
