Queering Courts

This article provides an overview of my PhD research and findings 'Queering Courts.' In it, I critically reflect on how courts such as the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) and the United States Supreme Court (US Supreme Court) interpret and ‘construct’ the notions of ‘sex,’ ‘gender,’ ‘sexuality’ and ‘sexual orientation’ as regards equal marriage rights for same-sex couples in their equal marriage rights case law.
