Abstract

We were amazed, to say the least, when we read the letter to the editor by Ates et al. regarding our paper. Their comments involve a series of misconceptions and inaccuracies that we feel we need to straighten out.
Unlike Ates et al. mention, and as is clearly stated in our article, our objective was to evaluate pathology findings of men undergoing radical prostatectomy (RP) after an initial period of active surveillance, making it merely an observational descriptive study.
