Abstract

We thank Sontacchi et al for their interest in our study "Visual acruity in pseudoxanthoma elasticum." We appreciate their comments and would like to respond.
Sontacchi et al correctly stated that the Snellen chart is less accurate and may yield a lower visual acuity as compared to the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study chart. The largest difference in visual acuity measurements between the Snellen and Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study charts is seen in eyes with a Snellen visual acuity lower than 20/100. [...]
