Abstract
The aim of this article is to present different legal strategies for the financial sustainability of Colombian biobanks. For that purpose, this work criticizes
the sale of human biological samples as a means for sustainability, and proposes different legal alternatives based on, among others, the compensation for the costs
associated with the maintenance of the biobank, services of sample collection for third parties or political commitment on the part of the State.
