Abstract

State-corporate crime refers to the serious social harms that result from the interaction of political and economic organisations and that are mutually beneficial for the economic, social and political elite. This entry discusses the origins of state-corporate crime and the theoretical explanations for it. It then focuses on several case studies of state-corporate crime, ending with a discussion of several challenges for the future. The particular focus lies with those state-corporate crimes that harm the environment.
