Abstract
Structured reporting in radiology has been promoted for decades [1], however, it has still not been widely adopted in clinical routine [2]. Instead, with the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, people are expecting miracles and think that structured reporting is no longer relevant as “we are close to fully automatically generated structured radiology reports that would require human interaction only in a few cases”. Although we are likely to go there, understanding the relationship between structured reporting and AI could facilitate faster movement in that direction.
