Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of the evolution of TAVI in the Erasmus
MC since the first procedure in 2005, the implementation of the TAVI Care and Cure
Program and the consequences on daily clinical practice. Central to this is the holistic
approach to the individual patient with Aortic Valve stenosis, to determine the best
treatment strategy for the patient taking into account the balance between risks and benefits to meet the patient’s expectations and outcome on quality of life after treatment.
