Abstract
Politics is about making decisions in situations where there are differences of view. That is, where there is conflict. And the people we train, public managers, public servants and the like, have to assist in this process of conflict resolution. A keen understanding of the relevance and dynamics of conflict, a sharp awareness of conflicts and of what is at stake, makes or breaks the career of our students. For that reason I want to explore the degree to which we prepare our students for dealing with conflicts.
