Abstract

This thesis aims to investigate the effect of neonatal oxidative injury of the
lungs during adolescence/early adulthood when overt cardiopulmonary disease is
absent. Part I of this thesis presents a review that provides an overview of cardiac
consequences of BPD during infanthood and challenges and recommendations in
studying the pathophysiology in this population.
