Abstract

Research question: Diversity and inclusion are becoming increasingly important at work, but what can leaders do to promote
inclusion in their teams and encourage teams to benefit from the
diversity of ideas?
Methodology: In three empirical studies in Belgian organizations,
we tested which leader behaviors facilitate team-based inclusion
and hence team creativity.
Practical Implications: Organizations can create an inclusive and
creative work environment through their leaders who need to actively
appreciate and encourage the exchange of diverse ideas while clearly
communicating the benefit of diversity to their employees.
