Abstract
In this collection women's struggles from many parts of the world, mainly Asia, Latin America and Europe, are brought together, showing an impressive array of strategies used. Analyses of women's mass movements, of grass-roots women's organisations and of autonomous women's groups are presented. The central debates in this book focus around issues of autonomy (organisational, theoretical and personal) and the relationship between women's organisations and leftist groups.
